Toby Street

Looking to hire musicians? Allow us to introduce you to Toby Street, one of two trumpet players for Riverside Brass Quintet.

Having achieved a first class undergraduate degree from the Royal College of Music and a postgraduate degree from the Royal Academy of Music, Toby now freelances across the UK.

As well as being a founding member of the quintet, Toby’s passion for chamber music has seen him work with London Brass, Superbrass and Septura Brass Septet.

Orchestrally, Toby performs regularly as principal trumpet with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philharmonia, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, while also performing regularly with many other UK orchestras.

Toby’s commercial work includes large arena performances with “Bastille”, “The Hoosiers” and “Public Service Broadcasting”, as well as commercial session work for CD releases and film scores at many of London’s recording studios, including Abbey Road. You’ll also find him regularly performing as lead trumpet with Oompah Brass.

It is worth mentioning that Toby is a skilled arranger and has penned many unique interpretations of popular songs as well as national anthems, jazz standards and classical favourites especially for Riverside Brass Quintet. Some of these can be heard on our website, as well as on the quintet’s debut CD, Riverside’s Yuletide.

In 2014, he completed a brass and vocal arrangement for Michael McIntyre’s Very Christmassy Christmas Show, which aired on BBC1 Christmas Day that year.
